Project: 6,500 SF Tudor Style Residence

Location: Corning, NY

Date:2000

Quality: High

Above: Steeply pitched roofs, turrets, natural stonework and half-timbering are used to beautiful effect in this English Tudor style home. A full basement, opens to daylight in the rear (not visible here).

Above: Native stone was used for the living room fireplace & chimney. A bridge linking the second floor bedrooms crosses over the entry.

Fastidious attention to authentic, historically correct detailing was the key to this English Tudor style home. The half- timbering is rot resistant cypress set into the exterior plaster finish - native stone was used elsewhere.

Only the main building is shown above - a guest suite above the four-car garage is connected to the house via a covered breezeway barely discernible to the right.

Each of the children's bedrooms includes a "secret passage" - a special playful feature and the basement includes a 12' wide TV screen home theater as well as an authentic recycled bar imported from a pub in Dublin, Ireland.

Above: Cherry cabinets with black granite countertops and natural slate floors were used in the kitchen.

Above: A guest suite is located above the garage.

Above: Philippine Mahogany was used for the stairs and handrails.
